Wood Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Charge

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Peter Paul Fast Horse, age 26, of Wood, South Dakota, appeared before U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange on July 20, 2011, and pled guilty to the indictment that charged him with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 40 years' imprisonment.

The charge stems from the defendant knowingly and intentionally distributing 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. The investigation was conducted by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ted L. McBride.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for October 4, 2011. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.
